In accordance with the new Egyptian Customs Law #207/2020 effective as of November 2020, Advance Cargo Information (ACI) will be strictly mandatory for all Egypt import shipment from July 1st 2021. The importer is required to report in advance regarding arrival of goods prior to loading at Origin and wait for approval from the authorities involved. Once approval is received from the Customs (ADVANCE CARGO INFORMATION DECLARATION), it is the responsibility of the importer to provide the ACID reference to the exporter so that they can update this reference on all documents associated with the shipment.

Therefore, the following 3 elements are mandatory to be provided on Shipping Instruction no later than 48 hours prior intended vessel\u2019s ETA at first load port, to comply the implementation of ACI. The Shipping Instruction will be rejected if any of these valid elements is missing on the shipping instruction.

1)\tShipper Identification Number (3 segments with unique format, example US-02-1208614364)

Tips: the value should include country code as well as identification type and number as follow \u2013

• Two letter code (ISO-3166-1) representing the country where the exporter (shipper) is registered;

• Two digits identifying the type of identification number (01-Company Registry; 02-VAT);

• The exporter identification number issued by the relevant authority.

2) Importer Tax Registration Number (9 digits)

3) Unique ACID Number (19 digits)

With given implement date of July 1st 2021, we will strictly refrain from loading any shipment planned to be destined to Egypt at the first load port if required ACI elements are missing or failed to pass the validation, and the cost is on Shipper\u2019s account.
